We turn research into decisions.
The answer may already exist — just outside your sector. We find it, assess what matters, and turn it into decisions you can act on.
The research is out there. We help you find what matters.
There is no shortage of scientific knowledge about our oceans. The challenge is making sense of it. New research, regulation, technologies and environmental change create questions that do not fit neatly into one discipline or one industry. Atrium brings the relevant knowledge together, examines what it means in context and translates it into a clear strategic direction.
-
Scan it.
EU programmes, national initiatives, innovations, best practices, and outcomes in adjacent sectors.
-
Translate it.
Turn findings into something you can act on: risk, cost, timing, regulatory fit.
-
Connect it.
Route to the right specialists and internal teams, with an evidence trail behind the decision.
Three ways to work with us.
Some questions can be answered in a focused research sprint. Others need a room full of people to explore the problem together. And some require a longer strategic partnership. Atrium works at different scales, always starting with the question itself.
-

Workshops
Focused sessions that bring the right people together, introduce relevant evidence and create a shared direction.
½–1 day
-

Intelligence Sprints
Focused research around one strategic question, bringing together the evidence you need to make a decision.
2 weeks
-

Strategic Engagements
Longer-term work for complex challenges where research, strategy and transformation need to develop together.
6–18 months
Not sure which approach is right?
That's fine. Start with the question.
Alongside our work with clients, Atrium develops projects that turn ideas into practical programmes, partnerships and new opportunities.
Our flagship project
Das Blaue Netzwerk
Building a stronger Blue Economy — together.
The Blue Economy is full of innovative businesses and people working on solutions for the future of our oceans. But many of them face the same challenge: good ideas need the right knowledge, connections and opportunities to grow.
Atrium created Das Blaue Netzwerk to bring these pieces together.
The programme connects community-benefit SMEs, start-ups and other organisations across Germany's Blue Economy with expertise, individual coaching, workshops, events, visibility and new connections. Rather than simply creating another network, the aim is to create practical value for the people who are building the Blue Economy.
The “Das Blaue Netzwerk” project is funded under the “Nachhaltig Wirken” programme by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWE) and the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).
Across the marine economy
We work across the sectors where marine science, technology, business and sustainability meet.
Scientific depth. Strategic perspective.
